Night Quotes

1.) Quote: "Well, there you are, you see! What did we tell you? You wouldn't believe us. There they are your Germans! What do you think of them? Where is their famous cruelty?"(Wiesel, 19)

Analysis: This person is being sarcastic and telling the other people of the town how wrong they were about, the Germans. They are trying to explain how silly it is to believe the Germans are cruel, and how they were right, that the Germans were not cruel at all.

2.) Quote: "It was not until after the war that I learned who it was that had knocked"(Wiesel, 24)

Analysis: In this statement Ellie is foreshadowing what will happen later. He just didn't know about it in this point of the story.

Assateague Island

                                                                       Assateague Island
In the sixth grade I went on a field trip to  this beautiful Island in Maryland. On this Island was the wonderful scene of wild horses running freely across the shore. The ocean current was moving very quickly as water rushed over the sand on the shore. Many beautiful seashells covered the sand and was even in the water. We used the shells to build tall sand castles in the sand. We set our tents up by the trees, it was very cold because we went in november.
We all had hand warmers and alot of blankets because we were freezing. We also built a fire to keep warm and played games. At one in the morning we decided to play pranks on the boys. We went over to the shore and filled buckets with freezing water and ran to the boys tent. When we got to there tent we poured the water on them and sprayed them with silly string. At first we thought it was dumb to go in november and freeze but it was a awesome trip.

Dreams

George and Lennie have a dream that one day they will have enough money to buy a ranch. On their ranch they want to have alot of animals like cows and rabbits and even mice. Lennie gets very excited about this dream because he wants to tend to the rabbits. Lennie cant stop talking about this dream one day he tells Candy all about it. After Candy hears about it he wants in on it. He even asks if he can work with them and maybe do the dishes and house work when he cant work on the farm any more. Then it becomes all of their dream together.
I think that yes, this dream could have been pulled off or realistic if Lennie hadn't messed up. I think there chances of getting the ranch were gone as soon as Lennie killed Curlys wife. I also think it is very important to have dreams and goals. Where would we be if we could not hope and dream it would be a terrible world with no dreams. If others doubt our dreams it sometimes blows all our dreams thinking that none of our dreams will come true. So no matter what anyone says you shouldn't doubt your dreams.
If your dreams go unfulfilled for along time than they would be like long term goals but dreams so long term dreams. Sometimes when our drams are not fulfilled quickly we doubt and give up on them. You should never give up on dreams. When you are in troubled times you should hold on to unrealistic dreams. Even if they are unrealistic they might make you try harder. While you might not necessarily get that but something still good or better than you would've gotten without trying. So you should always try your best to reach dreams. Even if you don't get what you think you wanted who knows you might get something better.

Harrison Bergeron

Sometime you can be yourself and not get picked on but most of the time you do get picked on by someone because every ones different in their own way.People get picked on for everything from your voice to your hair or even your size. If you are picked on you should know your not the only one everyone has been picked on at least once in their life. You should express yourself in your own way not how someone else wants you to. So it does not always mean with having one you can not have the other but many times that is the case. Even if you act like yourself and have a few friends its better they know who you really are then to have a lot of friends that don't know you.                                                                                                                                                                     I think you should always be yourself and not always wonder what the other person thinks. If nobody acted their own way than everyone would be the same and that would make a very boring world. How would you feel if you and all your friends had to act like robots because you could not express anything? You would probably hate the world then because you cant have feelings. So don't hide your true self because of anyone. So if someone does not stand up for who they really are nobody will and if nobody shows who they really are we wont really know them.                                                                                                                                                                   So yes, being yourself is a lot more important than being with the normal crowd. One other reason is that you will grow up and leave school and it wont matter how popular or how many friends you had in high school because you will be out in the real world. If you go out in the real world and have never learned to be yourself you will be boring. What will you do if there is no crowd to fit in with and call normal? What will you do then? So you should try to be yourself and not like anyone else.
